Russia, Kiev Grivna Hexagonal (Rouble) XI-XII cent
170.88g. 86x39mm. A very rare and early grivna type, cast in pre-Mongol Russia (Kiev, Novgorod, and Chernigov). Typically circulated in the south for tax payments, though they are also known in the north.
